I am a stem cell biologist working in the area of molecular medicine, trying to understand the regulatory mechanisms that are operational in post transcriptional regulation of gene expression in kidney development and disease. I am interested in looking at the cascade of gene expression networks and how they are modulated by the perturbations in disease processes. I am currently teaching (and in the process also learning) about stem cell biology, cancer biology and animal physiology. Our group is the Ribonucleoprotein Biology Lab (RBL), who use a combination of biochemical, molecular and cell biology tools to understand how RNA protein complexes regulate kidney tissue homeostasis.
